Over the years we’ve been able to bless many locations across the United States. Our heart is to provide funds that can meet immediate needs and fund ministry. In keeping with our “no strings attached” approach we ask only 2 things of each location.
1: use the money on furthering their vision
2: send us a thank you video so we can share who you are and what you’re doing
Pastor Jesse, from River of Life is good friends with the Sr. Pastor of Granite Falls Assembly. When word got out about Granite Falls Pastor Jesse reached out and started following our social media.
In a short period of time we were able to connect and then move forward with blessing the church. Little did we know, Pastor Jesse grew up in WI, just like Tommy (our Founder) and his wife Angela.
In late January of 2022, we were able to connect (on the phone) with Pastor Tim. We had the privilege of telling him about SYCAMORE and the unique ministry God has placed in our hands.
After receiving the funds, a need quickly arose and the funds through SYCAMORE we’re used to meet the need.
We reached out to Pastor Jim on January 19. Little did we know that day Jim and his wife Megan were in St Cloud, MN (where we’re from). Just a few short hours after our initial contact with them we were able to meet up face to face.
Pastor Jim and Megan had been foreign missionaries for several years and are looking forward to seeing great things happen in Granite Falls.
We reached out to Pastor Josh and this was his exact response. "Wow!!! Who gets a message like this? I’m so beyond blessed and thankful for your reaching out. I’m kinda lost for words lol. I’ll call you and talk more tomorrow if ok?" Josh called while his family was on their way to the St. Louis Zoo. While on the road with twin daughters in the backseat, Josh shared his heart for God, his ministry background and how excited he is for the future ministry of his church. It's a blessing to be able to partner with them through SYCAMORE and see God bless this wonderful couple.
Pastor Jon (youth pastor at Discovery Church), has been there for years. He’s originally from the Denver, CO area and has made quite a splash in MN.
He has an incredible passion for students and using his gifts to build the Kingdom of God. Pastor Jon said he’s wanting to see the SYCAMORE gift as an inspiration for his own youth ministry to start blessing other people.
This location came to us through contact. Someone who’s familiar with SYCAMORE reached out and asked if we take suggestions. Of course we do!
She told us about a church in Mountain Home, Idaho and said her son attends there. We reached out to Pastor Trent and the process continued from there. We are so excited to be able to connect with them.
Tommy came across this location while driving through the town of Vermillion. He and his family were traveling back to MN when a church stuck out from the landscape.
We didn’t know for sure the name of the town or the church, but we eventually found it and moved forward in blessing Hillside Community Church.
Back in the year 2000, Tommy (SYCAMORE'S Founder) and Brandon were roommates in Southwest Florida. They both attended Fort Myers Master's Commission which is a hands on ministry training program. Over that year they both traveled the country doing ministry at churches, schools and large youth gatherings. Little did they know that many (MANY) years later they would soon be reunited.
This is how it happened. Tommy was going through his suggested friends list on Facebook to see if there was anyone in ministry that he's acquainted with that we could bless through SYCAMORE. Brandon's name came up and upon further investigation we found out that Brandon was actually a pastor here in MN at a church about as far south as you could get. We connected with him and moved forward to bless his youth ministry.
Pastor Brandon has an unmistakable passion for students and a desire to see them grow in the things of God. He has a wonderful team around him and he decided to use some of the funds given to appreciate them. We loved this idea and we're so thankful to be able to help Pastor Brandon show his team how much they mean to him...and ultimately to the kingdom of God.
We believe at SYCAMORE that the brightest light shines the farthest. So one of our efforts has been to go to the farthest corners of our nation a support a ministry / church. Naturally speaking we were going to end up in Maine. But, who's ever been to Maine? Who's ever been to Maine and gone to church? No one we knew. So...we had to find a place.
We looked at a map and tried to select a town that's not in a major metropolitan area. We found a few places but didn't provide what we were looking for until we came across Bangor and eventually Discover Church. After reaching out to the senior pastor (Mark Fowler) he responded and said, "how do I know this isn't a scam?" We get this a lot. He then said, "If this is a legitimate leading of God upon your heart, then I am truly humbled. Thank you for reaching out. What do we do next?"
We continued to talk and moved forward with blessing the church. Discover Church used the money to create a new ministry for their youth during the midweek which has created more connections and opportunities to bless their community.
